Terry McBurney, writer for Woods-n-Water News will offer his expert advice to anyone who wishes to determine the value of their antique tackle – lures, reels, fishing rods (bamboo, steel, and fiberglass) as well as minnow buckets, glass minnow traps, wooden nets, fishing creels and other accessories. “People often come in with their old tackle box and fishing reels, most of which are post WWII and of moderate value. But once in a while someone will bring in something really exciting!”, McBurney describes, “Just last year a lady brought in a Dickerson fly rod, truly one of the nicest made in the US. I inspected the condition and confirmed the maker. At seven and a half feet, the rare fly rod was appraised at $4,000”.
